Cancer Research Fund

Advances in genomics, cellular and molecular biology, and the development of specialized instruments and imaging equipment have yielded a rich store of information that is being used to identify new, potential therapeutic targets. The capacity now exists to develop highly specific anti-cancer drugs.

OICR funds translational research projects through bi-annual peer-reviewed grant competitions to support a continuum of translational cancer research from validation of novel drug targets and development of new treatments to their clinical validation and application.

Opportunities are available for cancer research collaborations. OICR offers co-funding for industry and academic projects carried out in Ontario centres.
